I am excited to say that for the first time I will be attending the Gospel Music Association's weekend festival called Immerse in Nashville this summer. I haven't had a chance to do this in years past, because the event was held in Colorado. This will be a great time to get to know many other musicians and industry specialists involved in the Christian music industry. The weekend will include a mix of workshops and training as well as hosting one of the premier talent contests in Christian music today. It will surely be a blast!

I'm sorry to say two shows this past weekend were cancelled due to the bad weather in the Northwest. I will be hopefully rescheduling both of them for early 2010.

Happy late Thanksgiving and Happy early Christmas. I hope everyone had a wonderful Turkey Day. It's time for the most exciting and heart warming purchase of the year: a big round Christmas tin of 3 different flavors of popcorn! Yum.

Happy November everyone! I'm excited to say that we have finally chosen the track listing for my 3rd CD. In other words, we've chosen which songs made the cut and which songs didn't. I don't know why I keep using the word "we." No one else is having a say in this process except yours truly. "We" just makes it sound like I have a posse of cool musician friends when really I don't. Oh well...I would tell you the songs but I'm only 99 percent sure of the list right now so I don't want to count my eggs all in one basket....or something like that...when in Rome...no that doesn't work here either. "We" will talk to you guys later;)

So much has happened in these last few months. Where to start? Well for one, on Sept 12 I got engaged to the prettiest girl in the whole world. Her name is Colene and she is the best. Also I have just moved from sweet home Alabama to Mississippi (My fiance just started her PhD in Economics at Ole Miss...did I mention she's brilliant). Other than that I have just returned from Antigua, Guatemala where I was visiting my sister who is doing some mission work. And in between all of those wonderful things I am managing to stay busy playing shows all over the place. I've had shows in MS, AR, and AL in the past 2 months, and this fall I'll be traveling to OK, MO, and GA just to keep things interesting. I just got a video camera so I'm thinking about making some videos to go on YouTube for you guys so I'll keep you posted on that (This entry is scatter brained...sorry). That's all I know for now. See you all soon!

The big news right now is that my 21-yr-old sister just left on a 2 year mission trip to South America. She is currently in Guatemala for 3 months for language training. After that she will be going to Cartegena, Colombia for the remainder of her term. While there, she will be a coordinater for other short term missionaries visiting the country. I am so superly duper proud of her and I ask all of you to keep Katie in your prayers. You can follow her journey through her blog she has online at: (http://mystorynhisglory.blogspot.com/)

We are in the beginning stages of work on my 3rd CD and this one is going to be a lot of fun, I can already tell. With each project I am learning more about myself as an artist, and I am taking great pride in having ultimate control over what songs and styles I choose to produce. Speaking of production, this newest project will include an amazing group of producers and technicians that has been abscent with the previous 2 (Which means more head-bobbing enjoyment). I have no doubt it will be the best work we have done since I started writing. And so I am hoping to have everything done and ready to deliver by the end of this year. But that timeframe could definately be shortened depending on how busy touring is this Fall, so we shall see. There is still some more writing and revising to do, and there is also still a little capital to be raised (amazing producers and techys don't work for free);)

I hope everyone had a happy Easter. For me this week was a chance to relax. There were no scheduled shows for this weekend, so I got to visit my hometown church in Meridianville, AL for Easter Sunday which was a real blessing. With so much time spent onstage, it was nice to be a part of the audience for a change...

CHILD SPONSORSHIP NUMBERS RECORD HIGH FOR MARCH! ~ I just want to thank everyone who has sponsored a child this month, because you guys have set the bar at a new high. This month we have already sponsored 20 children through Mission of Mercy. That is awesome, and we've still got another week left. Great job everyone. See ya soon!

I just got back from Nashville where I got a chance to meet with all of the artists that are working in partnership with Mission of Mercy. MOM is the child sponsorship org. that I work with to help rescue the world's children from poverty. I am super excited to be able to say that I am a part of such a talented group of musicians who portray a genuine compassion for what this organization is doing: and that is saving children's lives.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody. This time of year in our family means two things: Chocolate treats and board games...Ahh yes, I love settling down by the fire with a truffle in one hand and some monopoly money in the other. It's what they call the good life;) As for the news in music, I'm doing a lot of writing (some good writing I might add) over the holiday break. I'm working on finishing an amazing demo with a producer in Nashville, and I can't wait for you guys to hear it. 4 songs on the new demo including 2 brand new ones. Yall shoot me an email and let me know how goes it. Later!

Sep 16th, 2008

In the shows we've done in the past 2 months, there have been 8 children sponsored through Mission of Mercy! That's 8 children who will now have a better life, and a chance to grow into leaders of their communities around the world. Thank you all so much for giving to this wonderful cause. See you soon!
